Hello.
I'll just get right down to it, so I've been using Dxtory for a long time, never had any issue with it. Until recently. I have always used the x264 codec, and yesterday when I was gonna record some footage, I noticed some weird fame skipping, and saw it was recording 24 FPS (I always use 30). So I had to call off the recording, when into the directory (where my recorded files saves) and I click on it, and noticed it said ".AVI" and not ".MP4". So I thought my settings had been changed, I when in there and it was the regular settings I've always used.
Tried to record, and again came out as ".AVI" I even tried using different settings, but the output is still AVI..
I am currently using the latest KLite Codecs, if that helps. I tried reinstalling Dxtory several times, tried reinstalling the codec pack. so far no result.
I've been struggling for hours trying to solve it, but nothing... Really frustrated. And I don't want to use any other recording softwares, I need Dxtory due to multiple audio tracks and its smoothness and functions.
Any help would be very appreciated!
Thank you.
Dxtory primarily records to .avi , it always has. If you're sure you have been using dxtory to record mp4 then maybe its the x264vfw file output mode ?
In this example image take a look at the x264vfw configuration window and then in the lower left corner where it says "output mode".

That is the only way I can think of to create an mp4 on dxtory.
DxTory never had mp4-option, you're probably mixing it with playclaw?
Thank you Takedown. That fixed it. Now It's back to normal, however I am experiencing video lag. Fix one problem and another one occurs. I wanted to record some footage on Just Cause 2. I play the game solid 60 FPS (Vsync), I start recording, the game is still running 60 FPS, and I can see the output shows 10-11 FPS. The recorded file is 10-11 FPS. Tried checking the threads. Nothing. Hmm *slowly tugging beard*
