Post by: TRS on May 05, 2015, 10:39:09 PM
Hi,

I hope you can help me. I cannot use Dxtory with GTAV as the game keeps crushing. Are you aware of this issue? Can you help me?
Thanks.

I'm new to the forum so I'm wondering if it's normal that nobody from the Dxtory staff replies...

thanks for letting me know!

Yeah its kinda normal but you need to post your environment information and any error log you have to get help and you will eventually get a reply. A lot of the time only one reply so dont expect too much.

I will throw my two cents in here to add more information.  I posted here a few weeks ago about how I could not take screenshots in GTA, videocapture worked fine with Dxtory .128
Then I tried the .129 Test .DLL's and that locks GTA up on start up in Steam. So I rolled back to .128.
I tried the official .129 today and the same thing happens. Launch the game thru Steam and it goes black screen and I have to CTRL-ALT-DELETE and it shows GTA has stopped working.
I tried Bandicam today and it works fine, screenshots, video all work normal but the Steam Overlay does not function.

My opinion it might have to do with the way Steam handles its overlay ability.  Because GTA also has its own overall function with the Social Club.  Probably connected to how DirectX handles what  is allowed to access the display driver...I don't know, I'm not a programmer.

When designating enough time in Delay Hook, a problem doesn't occur.

I can confirm, that GTA V crashes on launch when Dxtory is running. This didn't happen a few days ago with Dxtory version .128

Workaround: Launching Dxtory after GTA V will fix it. It's not a real solution, but it helps.
