Title: Dxtory - Matrox Codec not showing up?

Hello,

I only purchased Dxtory today and I wanted to use the Matrox codec that JackFrags uses https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qlj_ki5htZA

Codec: http://www.matrox.com/video/en/support/windows/vfw_software_codecs/downloads/softwares/version2.0/

But the codec won't show up in my list. Help please :)

It can't be handled in Dxtory, so, normal.

Hey man, saw the same video from Jack and wanted to try DX over Fraps which I had been using. I got everything setup on my Win 7 machine but have since upgraded to Win 10 and had the same problem you mentioned. After playing around with it I was able to get it fixed and wanted to reach out to tell you how to fix it as well. Install DX just as Jack suggests as well as the Matrox codec. Instead of double clicking on the program to open it, right click and go to properties. Once there click on the compatibility tab, check "Run this Program in compatibility mode for:" and change it to Windows 7 (at least thats what worked for me). Hit OK and then run the program as normal.

Hi guys, this thread tipped me off that Matrox was my issue.  I resolved it by uninstalling both Dxtory and Matrox.  Then reinstalling and reactivating Dxtory, launching it once, then reinstalling Matrox.  I hope that helps.

Only became an issue since updating to windows 10

It did not work for me personally.  I tried it several times. Do you have a order you did it in?

ugh I am sorry that I am super late to answer this lol. But if you still need help with this issue, here is the solution.

After you install matrox 2.0, go to you C: drive and click on "Program Files"
Then go to "Matrox VFW Software Codecs"
then click on "System64" ("System32" if on a 32 bit system)
and try to run "mveVfwCodecConfig"

If it does not run and gives "Missing mfcu100.dll" then that is why it will not show up
this is the reason why it will not show up.
to fix this, Install http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26999 for 32 and 64 bit (only 32 if you are on a 32 bit system)

I realize this thread is old but no one appeared to post a solution.

1) insure dxtory is closed (not open)
2) uninstall matrox vfw codec
3) re-install matrox vfw codec USE THE DEFAULT INSTALL PATH (C:\Program Files\Matrox VFW Software Codecs)
4) restart PC
5) launch dxtory - viola codec is listed
