Title: Trying to get higher FPS
Post by: heyawesomepeople on July 20, 2013, 03:41:36 AM
When recording with DXtory I am usually getting around 25 FPS. This is a little choppy. When not recording, I get around 45-55FPS. What is causing this? And how can I get more FPS?

I record on High Quality, 1280x720. My SSD writes the info at 76MBp/s.
My Specs(Custom Built):
16GB RAM
Radeon 6670HD Video
AMD FX 6100-6 Core 3.3Ghz
64-bit

7.1 Windows Rating.

I was thinking it was my Video card and/or SSD. So I was thinking I up my video card to Duel EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card (2-Way SLI), then getting a separate SSD for recording. Would that help?

Thanks

The bit rate is high.
And the speed of storage is not fast.

What HDD/SSD would you recommend? It's linked to an almost empty SSD.

Would a 1TB 10000RPM do the job?

for starters, you could try lowering recording framerate. You seem to use 42fps which is a bit uncommon. If you aim to publish your videos on youtube, you don't need more than 30, as thats the fps youtube will convert your video anyway.

Lowered to 30 FPS

I get 35-40 FPS in-game. 20-25 Recording. It's hard to record at that framerate.
