Title: Low recording FPS in Dxtory.
Post by: eoinirl on November 24, 2015, 07:01:53 AM
Hi, I recently bought Dxtory but am experiencing a few issues. The main one is that the recording FPS is incredibly low. I don't mean the framerate drops as soon as I start recording. All my games FPS remains over 60FPS when I'm recording. However, when I go to edit the video I find that the FPS is around 15-20. I've been messing around with my settings for hours but nothing has changed. Does anyone have a solution for this?

I get a very similar issue. I can record with other programs at a solid 60fps, but when I try with DxTory the recording FPS drops to 17 (I have it set to record at 60, and I tried at 30 but got the same result). And so far, I haven't found any solutions. I can't remember about when this started, but it was near v2.0.016.

This is typically indicative of your hard drive's write speed being maxed out and not being able to write fast enough to keep up with the data rates dxtory and the selected codec require. What codecs / resolution and framerate are you recording with and have you tried using the hard drive benchmark tool in Dxtory to test your write speeds?
