Title: how to i get audio from both game and mic?
Post by: werewolfhunger on December 30, 2015, 08:20:36 PM
i'm using dxtory to make live commentary in games but i don't know how to make 2 channels for audio (game audio + mic) .i'm using a mic called a-pod by reloop which seems to absorb all sounds and in the output file i only get mic audio with no game sounds in it. i've created multiple streams in the audio section of dxtory (pcm 48000hz 32 bit stereo for game sound with device realtek high def audio, and pcm 48000 hz 32 bit stereo for mic) i have a 64bit pc
do i need a sound card or a software like virtual cable?

If you right click on the avi file that Dxtory makes, you should see an additional option named "Extract Audio Stream." You should be able to click on that and get all of your audio sources.

If you set up 2 audio channels in Dxtory properly (1 for game audio, 1 for mic), like what shieldme said, the 2 audio streams are inside the .avi file and can be extracted by right clicking and extract audio streams. Regular video players do not play both audio streams simultaneously. If you used VLC, right click > audio > audio track > 1 or 2, to hear the 2 audio streams separately. Raw audio track extracts allows you to play with the quality through editing.

From there, you merge the audio streams manually with a video editing software.
