Title: Testimonial
Post by: DomThePotato on February 22, 2016, 02:59:19 AM
Hello,

I am a user of Dxtory and have been for 4 months or so. I wanted to say how much I would recommend this program. It is very efficient with storage and doesn't use up much CPU. My favourite codec is the Largarith Lossless Codec as it produces outstanding quality. However, it has not all been up. Sometimes I will finish recording and the orange recording symbol saying "FIN" will not go away which will lead to a damaged AVI file. BUT it is recoverable, which is what I found out today; that DxTory comes with a program called AVIFix which I can imagine I will be using more often now I know of it's existence. I also find DxTory isn't always too clear with an error because I remember once I was accidently using the wrong audio port and DxTory refused to work and being very ambiguous as to what the problem was. Although I worked it out in the end.

It hooks onto most games I know very well and overal is a great product and was well worth that £20 out my pocket. All the cracked versions are full of bugs and flaws.

So as DxTory has it's ups and downs I would say it is better than: OBS, Fraps, Bandicam and all of the other software programs I can think of. After all, no program can be perfect.

Kind Regards,

   Dominic :D

I could only say, change codec to UTVideo, it is lossless too, free too, intraframe coding too, but it use less resources, playback is smoother, have no problems with 60fps recording, is activly maintained etc..  and lagarith have desync and other problems with lastest dxtory-2.0.133

@Chronosek

Hey would you recommend UTVideo over  MagicYUV?

I use to use Lagarith a few years ago for Guildwars2. but now I would have been using MagicYUV and like it much better than Lagarith. Do you have any experience.

I had bought both MagicYUV and Dxtory this month because the program seems to be the best for my setup, I use the Rawcap, I have 2 Hitachi 2tb 7200k 64mb Sata3 drives, that are just for recording. I play off my SSD.

UTVideo and MagicYUV are pretty similar, but MagicYUV seems to perform a bit better on my rig, noticeably less fps drop while recording. Can't really say if it compresses better or worse, though.
