I was wanting to buy DXTory as I've seen videos of it being amazing, so I tested the trial and it won't actually record my game if I have "Record sound" enabled. The fps with Video at the top left becomes orange like it should but when I am trying to record sound too it doesn't have the spinning circle. When I try record without sound it works and has a spinning circle on the left of the FPS too. Please help.

Oh yes, installed that. Now it actually saves the videos, but it still wont record the mic - just ingame.

You have 2
separate audio tracks, one for game audio, one for mic. you need to mix them together in editing.
You can preview the tracks in VLC for instance: https://misterhenson.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/untitlecd.png just change the track
You are de-bomb thanks, buying it now.
