Title: Variable or constant framerate?
Post by: Quitch on March 28, 2016, 07:12:22 AM
I'm using dxtory with the Matrox Uncompressed HD 64-bit codec. Dxtory is set to a framerate of 30fps.

Does Dxtory record using a constant or variable framerate? I've been having problems importing the footage into Lightworks and the suggestion has been made that it's variable (which causes problems).

I believe it depends on the codec, not the software. Matrox tends to have some issues here and there with Dxtory and some video editing software. Have you given other codecs a try yet?

It should be constant, but if you wanted to test it you can record a static screen ( such as a menu ) in-game and check the fps during playback.

lol it is constant and yes it depends on software and not the codec.

This is a common problem if you use G-Sync.
Just don't use it when recording to make the frames constant instead of variable.
