Hi,
Dxtory won't find a game that it work in again if you record > stop recording > close dxtory > open dxtory. It will not rehook. It's the same if dxtory crashes during recording and you reopen it. It will not rehook into the game.
This is not an issue with hooking into the game initially, that works. It's only if the game is open, dxtory is closed then reopened that if refuses to hook again.
Any fixes for this?
I wish you hadn't abandoned Dxtory so much Exkoder, it only has a few bugs left in it and would be perfect with them fixed.
i've come across this too, but also noticed that sometimes when closing dxtory while a game is running, there is still a dxtory process left running that can be seen in task manager. dxtory host module or something, sometimes it helps ending that process before starting dxtory again, but it doesnt always help.
I would experiment with the two settings under Advanced > Hook Option
Check Destruction of Device
Permanent Hook
Those hook options dont seem to fix anything for me. It's got to be something within dxtory that is preventing it rehooking. It's such a pain if it crashes and you have to restart the game. I just wish Exkoder would fix this and add in a Buffer so you can record last 10-20min afterwards like shadowplay has. Dxtory would literally be perfect then.
Does anybody know how to contact Exkoder btw? I would literally pay him to do these 2 things whatever he needs.
Anybody
Did you already try his regular email ?

Im curious though about the hooking issue, when Dxtory crashes, have you taken a look to see if the process ( game ) still has the Dxtory support dll's loaded into it ? Here is a quick little article of how to check
https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/SYBCON/Process+Explorer+What+DLLs+or+Drivers+are+being+loaded
Using the article, could you post a screenshot of the game process in Process Explorer after Dxtory has crashed ?
Is there anything in Dxtory's Errorlog ?
Will try that email thanks.
Will try that process thing and get back to you shortly.
So I just checked. When it wont rehook it is leaving these 3 dll's hooked even when dxtory is fully closed.

Is there a way I can kill these running somehow?
When it will rehook these 3 close with dxtory closing.
Edit: Actually it's 4 dll files left hooked UWPHelper64.dll as well.
Here are a couple tools for dll removal that might work :
Gui program to inject or remove dll
