Good day! I've been using Dxtory for my YouTube efforts for some time now. I recently decided to start using it to feed game content to XSplit for live streaming as well as their internal Game Source has become less reliable lately. What I do is output Dxtory Video 1 in 720p30 to XSplit (which is the resolution I stream at) but I also record what I'm sending to XSplit to an AVIat 1080p60 with Lagarith, which I use for high quality VoDs on YouTube later. The problem is, XSplit is randomly crashing when being used this way and I can't figure out why. Sometimes it crashes right at launch with DXtory running, sometimes it crashes a few seconds after starting it, sometimes it crashes after a few minutes, sometimes it runs for an hour or more without issue. I can't find any rhyme or reason to it. If I turn off the Dxtory Video 1 source in XSplit, the crashing goes away. I also have already made sure XSplit's internal Game Source is off. I hope someone can help me out as Dxtory is the perfect solution for what I'm looking to do. Does it crash if you only output to directshow into xsplit and do not record a secondary file with dxt ?
Nope, the crash happens regardless.
Though this is obviously a problem, it's not a priority for me anymore. I've decided to drop XSplit and switch to OBS Studio. XSplit has had numerous frustrations for me beyond this one and while it was better than the previous OBS, OBS Studio blows them both out of the water. It actually has built-in lossless recording which I can use to record my streams and I can still use Dxtory to record normal gameplay videos for YouTube. So at least for now, all's well.
