ok so I just got dxtory and I'm so stupid I swear but I went into settings I have my start/stop movie capture on F9 but when I press F9 in my sims 4 game it wont record and when I press it on my desktop it wont record. I think its because I don't have my profile thing set up where at first it says default. can someone help?
Have you tried to change the key to something else rather than F9?

I disagree. A program that needs heck of a lot of tweaking to function like it should is not called "not for beginners" but broken. You can't imagine the struggle I've been through every time I bought a new game to make everything work, from Dirt Rally stuttering to Minecraft flashing and some games in which I can't even start recording like this guy here. Finally, the admins keep suggesting us to downgrade to past versions like .128 instead of pushing out fixes for the countless compatibility issues. When I tried the trial years ago, Dxtory was perfect and would function in every game, but from the .129 update and on everything is broken and .128 won't function because of AMD problems.

Also, a sidenote, when I do manage to start the recording through a lengthy process (alt tabbing, start rec, alt tab back), the recorded footage is at very low frames, despite the recording indicator saying it's 59-60.
