Title: AMD Crossfire and distributing file writing
Post by: herkules on December 30, 2016, 09:26:37 PM
Hello! :)

I've been using testing Dxtory for a while now and ran in some difficulties: For one, it cannot get it to use it's distributed file writing. I set up multiple disks in the Folder Setting(s)-Tab (s is missing), checked more than one of them and set write speeds. The bitrate is higher than the write speed of each single device, but lower than the sum. I also tried to use the built in disk benchmark, which doesn't affect the results. Multi Device Processing is enabled.
When using AMD Crossfire, the video gets extremly weird. It seems to alternate between two frames (I can link an example if you want). If I disable Crossfire, it captures smoothly at full 1080p60 without any issues. I tried all Data Processing Option(s), but it won't help. Also, I tried to Synchronize Video FPS, which doesn't help neither.

Furthermore, can I help you out in exchange by providing a German translation? :)
Many thanks in advance!

Edit: Attachment added.

You need to change the File Format from AVI File to RAW and stitch it together after with the RawCapConv. I do not recommend doing it for longer recordings.
The write speed will be No. of drives * write speed of slowest drive.

No clue about the AMD problems, but Crossfire and SLI are often problematic.

Many thanks regarding the recording speed issue!

Maybe the one with Crossfire is a bug?
