My native monitor resolution is 2560 x 1440. In full screen game my resolution settings are 1920 x 1080. To get good video quality after youtube upload I need to upload 2560 x 1440 file so it looks good at 2k an surprisingly also good at 1920 x 1080. If I upload only 1920 x 1080 than quality is terrible ...
I'm not really sure what is happening with resolution when I change it just in game. I dextory I'm setting scaling to 2560 x 1440 to get desired good quality youtube video. What actually is happening is I change resolution in game, I'm assuming it change automatically resolution og my monitor ... ? Also in this situation, when I'm scaling in Dxtory, am I really scaling or Im just telling Dxtory what resolution it should record? Also maybe I'm still doing it wrong, maybe I should record at 100% and upscale in other software while exporting for youtube?
Usually, the monitor uses the resolution you set in the application running in exclusive fullscreen mode. If you set your game to 1080p, the monitor will also most likely set to 1080p and Dxtory will record in 1080p.
Dxtory's settings will only alter the recording resolution, nothing else.
Either run the game at 1440p or upscale after recording. Dxtory scales using nearest neighbour, which is terrible for upscaling.
All right, thanks :)
