Title: Minecraft keeps crashing
Post by: Zoe_ on May 17, 2017, 06:23:54 PM
Hi,

Since the windows creator update I can't record minecraft with dxtory. Whenever dxtory is running, the game crashes instantly. I tried reinstalling dxtory, I checked that my drivers are all up to date. Tried running it as an administrator... no luck so far. I don't get any error logs for dxtory or minecraft, so I really have no idea what's going on. Is anyone else having problems? Any idea on how to fix this?

Other games like cities skylines are working just fine.

Did you install any other software recently ?  Do you have any motherboard software installed that "enhances" the audio like nahimic or asus radar ?

There may be some remaining issues between the creators update and Dxtory.  OBS has been sorting out issues with it as well

I didn't install any new software but yes, I have some audio enhancements installed. I'll play around with that. Thanks for the hint! :)

Yeah, I'm having some audio problems with obs, too. Magix' video editing software isn't wirking, either. This creators update sure feels like a creator troll update...

If you don't mind a little extra setup you can try USM.  It serves as a workaround until an update happens or solution is found.

Oh wow, thanks! Yeah, I'll definitely check it out! :)

Edit: Sadly this isn't working for me. Minecraft still keeps crashing, I can't even go trough the full USM setup :(
But still, thank you for your help!

Did you already try removing old java profiles from the profiles folder yet ?  With Dxtory closed, navigate to
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Dxtory Software\Dxtory2.0\Profiles

and remove or rename any java related profiles like javaw.exe.  Also, open index.txt and remove any lines containing java as well.  Then start Dxtory and see if it makes any difference.

There is a way to ignore almost all java ( for testing with USM ), you need to add a new ignore entry in the first tab and use this as the file path
*\javaw.exe,*
