Title: Encoding issue - Can't maintain 60 FPS while recording

Hello,

Currently I am having issues getting Rainbow Six Siege to record at a constant 60 FPS, even though I am getting roughly 120+ FPS video frames while both recording and not recording. I receive an encoding message while recording. My frames range from 52ish to 60 when recording. I have played with many settings both in dxtory and in game, but can't seem to resolve this issue.

I'd wager it's a Lagarith codec "bottleneck". While it is fast, it's not all *that* fast when it comes to bit more complex images. I get *way* better performance with UTVideo Codec and MagicYUV (which is my absolute favorite, btw). Maybe try those and see if your performance gets better?

Is there anywhere on their website that talks about the difference between the 16 different codecs for MagicYUV? Just trying to figure out which ones I should check out without having to really test them all.

I think I found what I was looking for, even though I don't really understand much of it. Is there a codec you'd recommend? I don't need anything over the top. I am just going for 1080p 60 FPS game recording for YouTube.

Most of the codecs I have tried with the MagicYUV have been fantastic for keeping me at a solid 60 fps with no encoding issues. I guess now I am just looking at file size and what the numbers like 4:4:4 mean.

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!

the 4:4:4, 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 are different color representations (edit: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chroma_subsampling for indepth explanation), basically 4:4:4 is the highest quality (alongside with RGB) but takes the most diskspace. 4:2:0 is the "lowest quality", and uses the least disk space.

I use the 4:2:0, the quality difference when compared to RGB/4:4:4 or such is *really* slim.

I figured that was the quality order but thank you for the confirmation and insight!

I have purchased MagicYuv and am thoroughly enjoying it!
