Hi,
Dxtory crashed when I stopped recording Wow-64.exe (64 bit version of World of Warcraft). I have recorded about 4:20h in 2560x1440 pixels with Dxtory codec at middle quality and compressed, so the avi file has a size of 1.68 TB. But it seems as if the header is missing, I just tried AVIFix, but it will take about 12 hours until it will be finished.
How can I avoid crashes like this in future? This is the first time this happens - and I can't say if AVIFix would repair the broken avi file.
ErrorLog is empty.
A WoW profile doesn't exist (see Environment Info below), maybe because Dxtory has crashed?
Is the file too big? Or is it a problem if the recorded game is a 64 bit program?

Best regards,
Magogan
Please submit environment information, without editing.
Hey man, I had the same problem, whenever I recorded Smite then stopped the recording the game froze up and crashed, are you using the Dxtory codec ? All I did was change it to Lagarith Lossless Codec and it worked again, tho I find it to not be as good and would love them to fix the Dxtory codec, but I didn't get any answer after they suggested the OBS was the problem, which it wasn't.
Edit: So I tried Dxtory Codec but unchecked "Compress" and it works now so for me it's probably the compression that's fucked.
I don't know what you mean, I did not edit the Environment information. Below is the current Environment information, now with a WoW profile (because I played WoW again while Dxtory was running).
And AVIFix has crashed! After over 12 hours!!! "Now I'm really pissed off!" (Maybe some other software will be able to fix it, I will try.)

Although I also forgot completely, file size is a maximum of 2 TB.
Probably the file is unrestorable.
The index information at the end of the file was missing. I copied a new header from another file (same game, same resolution, same fps, same codec) with a hex editor into the corrupted file and opened it with VirtualDub. It has created the index information and I now try to export the file using the x264 encoder (AVI export would create a file with a size of about 4.5 TB). It will take a long time but I think it will work :D
Is there anything I can do to avoid this issue in future? Just stop and restart recording after about 2 hours?
AVIMux also has problems with WAV files with a length of about 4 hours or more. It just crashes with a "Runtime error" while building. I just wanna mux 2 wav files (1x stereo + 1x mono) into one wav file (stereo). Imported and exported files are PCM 44100 Hz, 16 Bit. If they are just 2 or 3 hours long, it works fine, but if they are longer, it crashes. I did not change any settings, just the length of the file is the difference between crash and no crash.
Remove Force CPU
Enable Synchronous Surface Lock and Wait for available Buffer.
And Threadcount @ 2
Better performance, better stability.
Damn you should know it already... You're so long in Letsplayforum. you should know the settings :S
I always would recommend to save the file earlier and not after 4 damn hours.
