Title: Video and File Problems
Post by: IS44C on December 16, 2013, 06:40:47 AM
I recently tried DXTory and was rather disapointed because after recording and even following a few tutorials on setting it up correctly it simply refused to work.
Whenever i record it creates a file none of my Players or Converters can read, the Game crashes or i just have Audio and nothing else.

What is a problem?
What game is it?
Title: Re: Video and File Problems
Post by: IS44C on December 17, 2013, 10:05:28 PM
every single game I  record works fine while the process of recording but, when im finished ant I want to watch the videos I'll get several problems with playing them. For example VLC player can't play the video no rendering program will recognize the video file witch is recorded with the dxtory video codec. When I chose another codec the game crashes isntantly after hiting the record button.
So the only way to record is with the dxtory codec, but non of my palyer or rendering programs can read it, or the game and dxtory crash when another codec is chosen.

It is a problem of VLC.

What game is it? Please answer correctly.
Submit the environmental information that is in condition that a profile was generated.

Please write what codec was used correctly.

You haven't stated the error your players give, if any.  My first step would be to reboot the PC.  When you installed dxtory it installed the xtor codec (the default recording codec) so you need to reboot for it to be registered to WMP and presumably VLC as well.  Another thing I would suggest is where you appear to be recording at full RGB... that takes some pretty heavy HDD bandwidth and if I read your environment correctly you are only using a single HDD with 112 MB/sec so you are going to get some jerky recording.  If this video is going on youtube then they only use 4:2:0 which is the medium setting.  Hopefully that is somewhat useful to you.

The reason a game crashes is not known.
