Title: Dxtory refuses to record with 29.97 fps
Post by: recwreck on January 18, 2014, 06:18:56 AM
Hi,

every time I select 29.97 fps, a red box appears. When I restart dxtory, it switches back to 30 fps.

My recording program "Powerdirector" uses 29.97 fps, so does it even make a difference if I record with 30 fps and then edit with 29.97 ?

The FPS difference in the two should not make a difference, as video FPS recordings of games can very drastically throughout the video.

The FPS difference in the two should not make a difference, as video FPS recordings of games can very drastically throughout the video.

In game fps is not the problem. When I import the recording to the editing program, it gives me a warning that the files is not in 29.97 fps.
I´m not sure if this warning can be ignored or not. It could possibly lead to audio sync problems or quality loss when the editing program converts the 30fps to 29.97 BUT I don`t know.

However I am getting very poor quality after rendering in powerdirector and youtube gives me a audio synch problem message, so I´m trying to eliminate all possible error sources, including dxtory.

Please submit the environment information by which the profile was generated.

Simply, it seems not to set up correctly.

Simply, it seems not to set up correctly.

I attached a screenshot from the dxtory "fps-selection".

It is German environment?
Probably it is a bug of handling of ".".

Yes it is but why should that matter and what kind of bug could there be?

Also, is it normal that dxtory isn`t showing any "24" and "25" fps recording options?

I'm guessing decimal point issue? Some locales use , and some .

Sounds weird, tho.

But, as a workaround, can't your video project in editing be transformed into 30fps? Atleast Vegas can handle pretty much any project fps I've tried.

bump pls. Problem still unsolved

Is there any way I can record with 25 fps in Dxtory?

Problem solved.
29.97 is still not working but I`m recording with 25fps now.
And guys, don`t buy Powerdirector, it`s a horrible piece of junk.
You can`t edit half of the encoding options but instead you have tons of outdated wedding effects from 10 years ago.
