Hey,
I have a quick question. Using the scaling option, are there any performance benefits to using a lower resolution than native? Perhaps recording in a native resolution yields a better result if the CPU doesn't have to downscale the footage as well.
I'm curious.
By scaling footage to 720p you are easing down that extra pressure that you create from recording the gameplay while playing. So in numbers example if I record Borderlands 2 in 1080p@30fps my average in-game framerate will be 40 fps. But if I turn on scaling to 1280x720 then my average framerate will become 50 fps. The single video file difference between the two is resolution and bitrate. 1080p 30 MB/s bitrate, 720p - 15 MB/s bitrate.
