Title: Dxtory not catching hotkeys - impossible to record?
Post by: awmperry on July 15, 2014, 08:33:00 AM
(I've attached all the logs I could find; not sure which of them are relevant, but better too many than too few...)

I've recently started trying to get to grips with the Dxtory trial, and I think I've got everything set up as I want it. However, the hotkey to start recording doesn't seem to work - the FPS counter dips for a fraction of a second, but never changes colour to indicate recording and no recorded video ever results. I've tried various different key combinations and various different games, to no avail.

Any idea what could be wrong?

(On a side note, if I set the video resolution height to 720, will the width calculate itself, or do I need to set it manually and risk non-16:9 games getting stretched?)

The value of Size of Scaling is wrong.

No, Dxtory won't automatically change the value based on what value you enter in the other box. You should manually enter what resolution you wish to record at. Or simply leave scaling at "100%" and Dxtory will record at whatever resolution you are playing the game.

OK, so am I better off recording at full res and downscaling later or just setting it to record at 1280x720?

ExKoder, what should it be?

Any thoughts on the hotkey problem?
