Title: RawCapConv crashes every time trying to play or convert :(
Post by: SomeGuy on August 11, 2014, 05:47:25 AM
Hey there,

I recorded some gameplay in 2560x1440p in RawCap using Lagarith Losless Codec. Now everytime I try to convert one of the files, RawCapConv instantly throws an exception error. As I use a german windows, the error log is in german, sorry, but it reads as much as the call of the constructor for the type "RawCapConv.MainWindow" startet that exception.

Same happened when I tried to convert/play a 4K rawcap movie, haven't tried 1080 yet. Is there by any chance a fix for higher resolutions (if that's the cause)? I'm a bit desperate, tried half a dozen other tools to convert, but nothing else would recognize the format, nor would any tip from any searches on Google help :/

Thanks in advance for any help on this topic,
SomeGuy from teh Internets :)

Edit: just tried converting the files with RawCapConv on another PC, got the same error, so it probably isn't the hardware.

It seems that there is a problem in DirectShow.
The problem has occurred by the renderer, a codec, or its construction.
If you are not specialist, it is difficult to specify this cause.

When another codec is used, a problem may not occur.

A problem will not occur, if it does not preview, but such an option does not exist in the present version.

If there is  problem with raw cap and logarithm lossless why not directly record in a avi container? I can promise you that it will work :D.
The raw cap format is just for not lading cpu to hard when recording, but if you can play in 1440p i don't think that this is the problem ;)
