Title: Way to Only Record AUDIO?
Post by: FRANKIEonPC on August 17, 2014, 08:47:20 AM
Hi,
Is there a way you can only record audio, no video with Dxtory.
By this I mean say 3 audio channels, but no video channel is saved.
Reason I ask, is some games are very very laggy with Dxtory, so I would like to use Shadowplay to record the Video, but because Shadowplay doesnt have multiple audio tracks for splitting off Skype / Mic / In-game, to record the audio with Dxtory and just put the two together.
Best,
Frankie

I honestly doubt you are real FrankieonPC since otherwise the real one would simply ask Jack, who is significatly more experienced with Dxtory. Not to mention I doubt there's any game where Frankie's GTX 690 wouldn't be able to tank at least stable 30 fps.

Either way the answer is no, as far as I know it's not possible to record audio only. In theory you might try to find some extremely crappy video codec quality-wise which won't put any pressure on your framerate when you start capturing video. And later you export audio from that video file.

If people know any other workarounds to force Dxtory to start recording audio, they would be helpful.
