Audio Desync

So all of the sudden I'm getting nearly 2 seconds of audio desync on my recorded videos. The audio happens nearly 2 full seconds before it is supposed to take place.

You mean it's offset by 2 seconds (in some direction), meaning it's no sound the first 2 seconds then it begins from start, or it starts immediately but it's 2 seconds before the video.

If that's the case, then it's not normal that's for sure.

My first guesses would be, HDD or Process problems, like some kind of lag that would interrupt, though somehow doubt this.

Other guess would be a sound driver issue, this stuff isn't that normal but not too far fetched.

So i would say, update all audio drivers, set all your Audio Output etc correct (I would say 24/32bit 48khz in Windows, and in Dxtory 16bit 48khz).

Then report back.

Video and audio starts at the same time. in the video. But from the very beginning it is 2 seconds off. It's like the audio starts recording 2 seconds before the video initiates recording.

Processor is running perfectly. I actually just tested it with a 24-hour Prime95 run, to make sure everything was going OK, about 3 days ago. My HDD's are working fine as well. I have 2 7200RPM drives in raid zero, which test at 237MB/s in Dxtory's own benchmark.

I can use Mirillis or Fraps to record with no audio issues (though I don't feel either has the settings/quality of Dxtory.

Audio drivers are up-to-date. Audio settings match between Dxtory and my sound card (which is a very nice sound card).

Turns out that checking the 'Enabled Synchronous Surface Lock" and "Wait for Available Buffer" fixed the issue.

Ah great. I am guessing you either need one or both.

One forces Memory Transfer to happen instantly without waiting.
Other says to not do any "work" until there is anything in the buffer.

Never had to use them for anything like this, interesting.
