no video , only audio recorded .

the recorded video is just a black screen , audio is perfect .  Sure I missed something in the preferences/settings , just not sure what ?

Run the video in a different video player. If you are recording lossless or near lossless, it may be too much data from basic programs that come with windows. Try using an editing program like adobe or final cut. If you are using windows 10 make sure you are playing it back in windows media center not the videos app.
