ExKoder

Is a video codec the cause?
The CPU resource by the side of a game is insufficient, and I think that FPS decreased.
Or it may be caused by the lower specifications of the video card.

Jshaw119

The video codec I am using everyone says I the best one to use "Lagarith Lossless Codec" and I don't see it been the video card as when i play the game its at a 100+ fps but it must be the CPU getting used by some thing in the background because some when I am recoding the game FPS is up in the 90 - 80.

zerowalker

Try UT Video Codec with YUY2 (422).

Lagarith is indeed the Best in terms of compression and speed in most cases.
In 2D it´s totally unbeatable, so if you play SNES GBA whatever, Lagarith is a total killer!

But in some 3D games with heavy CPU usage, Lagarith becomes a limitation, even if the cpu isn´t at 100%.
But then UT Video Codec with YUY2 is the solution.

De-M-oN

record audio in PCM. Why in MP3? Thats in every way a bad choice.

Lagarith is at YV12 and [ x ] multithreading configured?

Jshaw119

I used UT video codec and i has fixed all my fps drop thanks

and I was using YV12 and multithreading and LAME MP3 is better then PCM

zerowalker

Great to hear that:)

And i have to agree with Demon PCM is by all means better.

But, if you know that you get the quality and performance you need, then by all means go with mp3.

But overall PCM is the way to go, it´s easier to work with, end will produce the best end result (a little like working with lossless video is the best when recording).

kolo54321

Get a SSD and put it into your computer then save the game recordings to the SSD fixes all FPS drops.
I've tried it.

Jshaw119

I do record onto a SSD but still got fps drop but its all fix now thanks to the UT video codec
