Hello,

since a few day's my DxTory starts recording normally, bur after a few seconds drops it on 5-12...
I think it's the hard disk but I tested it with Fraps with the exact same settings, and it record with full 30 fps.
By the way my hard disk has 100 mb/sec writing speed and I tested it a lot...
So I try the lowest format, YUV410 (Compress), and again, only 5-12 fps after a few seconds...
I don't know what the problem is, I hope you can help me :D

And sorry for my bad english^^

I think that it will be improved if "Enable Synchronous Surface Lock" is used.

De-M-oN

and threadcount (proc. Threads) at 2.

Ergwano

Still 5-13 fps, but I monitored my hard disk:
DxTory use ca. 80 mb/s at the beginning, and after 5 sec it falls to 10-18 mb/s...

Here I made a benchmark of my Hard Disk, maybe helps:

@De-M-oN The same result...

QuoteDxTory use ca. 80 mb/s at the beginning, and after 5 sec it falls to 10-18 mb/s...
if this is the case this is not a problem by dxtory.

@De-M-oN
Maybe, but what's the problem you think?
Its not the hard disk...

De-M-oN

If its not the hard disk what else you think is the cause that your hard disk loses so much writing speed at longer duration.

This only can have something to do with your harddisk and/or your sata controller.

Please inform me of the correct product name of HDD.

I think that it is a problem of the cache system of OS.
Turn OFF cache of HDD. The result of a benchmark is fallen when effective.
However, it is an original speed.

By Windows8, when cache of SSD is enabled, there is a problem to which speed falls periodically.
This is a phenomenon by the defect of the cache system of OS.
Although I do not know whether there is such any problem by Windows7, it is alike.
Since it seems that 2 TB or more of HDD is a product of 4K sector, special operation may be performed.

It's a "HDD 3 TB USB 3.0 EF353.911"

The cache was already off...

I don't understand why it doesn't work, all other programs doesn't have a problem with the hard disk. There is no fragmentation and I only use it for my videos, my OS and other programs are on another HDD.

edit:
Now I try it with my very old hard disk (I didn't use it since a year), and there is no problem x_x
Full 30 fps, but when I want to watch it the read speed of the HDD is not fast enough, first I have to move it to another hard drive.

But what is the problem of my ext. HDD? Previously worked well... And 400GB are not much for raw video data...
May I ask the support from my HDD?

Is a USB 3 driver installed? Your HDD seems to fallback to USB 2 speed for some reason.

Ergwano

Yes a USB 3.0 driver is installed, will a USB 3.0 HDD work without a driver? :O

De-M-oN

Quotewill a USB 3.0 HDD work without a driver?

I dont know, but it would be realistic for me if its just at USB 2 speed then.

ExKoder

Is it a problem of a USB controller chip?
Since the old HDD operates normally, the product of 4K sector may not be handled normally.
Please search that there are various problems in "4K sector HDD".

Please test by SATA connection.

Ergwano

The old is a internal 400GB HDD with SATA, the 3 TB is a external hard disk with a separate energy source and a USB port.

So, how I can test the extern with SATA?
