Unable to record audio

So after reinstalling my PC i am unable to record any audio with DXtory.
when i put on any audio device it will look like it is recording, even making the 0kb file in the output folder.
but as soon as i stop the recording it removes the file and doesn't save anything.
when working with no audio source it works fine.

i did try a lot of things, different versions, updating audio drivers, other encoders, but nothing seems to be doing much.
i am pretty much clueless about what to do next... since there is nothing wrong with my PC other than this.
as i said, clean install on 8.1 N professional, and my sound works just fine, also other recording software does work.

anyone had this problem before and knows how to fix it? let me know if u want some more info.
