Hi.  I just discovered Dxtory and downloaded the trial.  I'd like to be able to keep my game FPS as high as possible, and sacrifice a bit on quality if I need to.
What settings would you suggest?  You will note that I have Catalyst V 14....
Here's my environmental variables:

I can't really say the settings that I use is the best, however i have made a lot of high quality video files using Dxtory and Bandicam and Fraps.
I no longer use Bandicam and Fraps because Dxtory serves the purpose for me, only if I came across Dxtory before hand ;).

To achieve High FPS with some games you will need to reduce graphics settings based on your Video Card (Radeon 5800), meaning quality of game will not be the best, but may be good enough for video recording, depending on the settings chosen with in the game and the settings you choose in Dxtory.

There are two codecs that you can use.
First (default codec)
Dxtory Video Codec
The settings you have chosen for it is okay, I have similar settings.

This is where one will just play around with settings until they achieve what they want.
There are plenty of guides on YouTube discussing different settings for best recording and game play. After all, your computer will be recording and playing a game at the same time.

Second (you may need to download this codec)
x264vfw - H.264/MPEG-4 AVC codec (available with k-lite codec pack)

This codec is a little bit confusing to configure for the first time, again there are guides that explain Dxtory settings with this codec too.

Here are my settings
Dxtory Video Codec

x264vfw - H.264/MPEG-4 AVC codec

Use VirtualDub Hack only if you will be using VirtualDub to compress the file further. I use Sony Vegas, so I don't have it checked.

Extra command line (for advanced users)
--keyint 1
Recommended between 1 - 15
This is used for studios like Sony Vegas.

--------------

Movie Tab.
Frame Rate: I use 30fps because I upload to YouTube.
Output: File Output is checked.
File Format: I have AVI selected.
Option: I have Include Mouse Cursor (only when I'm doing tutorials, helps to see the cursor).
Scaling: Percent: 100%, no point recording 50% of screen for a game :-\
Scale: I use 1280 x 720; which records at 720p (1920 x 1080; which records at 1080p, not many games are true HD anyway).

Advanced Tab:
All - Default

Global Tab.

I use a GTX 750 TI OC card and pretty much nearly all my games thus far are at highest settings.
I am working on water cooling my video Cards, so when I get the equipment for the water cooling, I will then consider to add my other GTX 750 TI OC card and run a SLI system.

I wish you luck, if I have missed anything please let me know
