Won't stop recording-- stuck indefinitely in "fin"

Hi,

I've used dxtory with no problem for a while now, but I just upgraded to a new computer and am having a fatal issue. Whenever I record for more than just a minute or two, when I try to stop recording, the write fps indicator goes away, but the video fps stays in the recording color with "fin" underneath it. It doesn't seem like any amount of waiting allows it to finish up. I have to abort dxtory in the task manager and of course the file is corrupted. I tried changing codecs for both video and audio with no success.

I searched first for others with this issue, but it couldn't find an example where it was solved adequately.

I can't get an error log from dxtory because I have to abort the program.
