Windows 8 doesn't allow .dxtorylic file to be opened

Hello, I have purchased dxtory and i am having a problem with opening my license file. I recieved the email and download the attachment to my downloads. When I try and double click the file I get the windows pop up saying "windows cannot open this file, search for an app in the appstore" no matter what i try i cannot get the file to open. Please help.

Dont double click it. It is not a txt file or an executable.

Instead, start dxtory normally, it will whine about license -> there should be enter license key or such, click it, open file dialog appears, open the license file with it.
