I know I know... another black screen question...

I've been searching.. found plenty of the same scenarios but nothing helps. So, I recently bought the Dxtory and I mean like just a few hours ago. I took a leap of faith and just bought it not trying it ahead of time. I also use OBS which had the same problem, until I uninstalled and it fixed. This was after I installed DXtory. I can hear my sound but no video is played. The file has an screen capture but when played nothing is shown just audio. I know everyone has different setups so... here goes my plead for help!

May be worth mentioning that I normally run 2x EVGA Nvidia 980 SLI normally but recently upgraded to the 980ti which I am waiting for in the mail. So I am using a back up card.

*UPDATE*
For some stupid reeason I needed to install a codex that wasnt listed. EVERY SINGLE CODEX LISTED DIDNT WORK... I installed x254 codex and it works flawlessly... Im still curious what any dev could suggest. Thanks

P.s. I've uninstalled everything multiple times both DX and OBS with restarts. all typical trouble shooting is done. I read something about xbox setting in win 10 but xbox doesnt even work... so I couldnt try that.

I use windows media player, which normally works with ".avi" just fine. Is there another you suggest?
