Cryengine 3, choppy video (MWO)

I downloaded the app last night, installed it and gave it a try before work today.

I set it at 30fps, which seemed reasonable, but it was really choppy. I kept with most of the "out of the box" settings and I was wondering, is this because I haven't registered? Is this because there are more settings I need to go through?

I am at work, and left the video uploading when I left. I am hoping someone will just be able to offer something that suggests an oversight on my part.

Anyways, the game is MechWarrior Online. I am running on an intel 2600k with 16gb ram, amd 7970 radeon, 2 ocz vertex 4's in raid 0 (450 meg per second). I don't max the FPS on the game though, but it never dips below 30.

I will when I get home, the computer is about an hour's drive away. I was thinking of it more like a user error than a software issue... that was why I was hoping there was a setting that might be an easy oversight.
