Help: DxTory refuses to record

Hi,

I recently bought changed from Shadowplay to DxTory and bought it, along with Virtual Audio Cable. It worked
great for awhile (though 1Gb per minute file sizes is astounding), but now it just will not record.

The only time it does start recording, it won't stop and I have to end task on it, and it doesn't save the video.

All was fine, then it just stopped working. The only thing I did was change the audio order to have
the Microphone as the 4th track instead of the 2nd. Yes I tried putting it back it didn't help.

I'm totally stuck. I'm a YouTuber so desperate for solution. I could use shadowplay, but defeats the purpose
of buying dxtory, and that it records in variable frame rate which screws up videos saved by Premiere.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks

What game was it that youre trying to record?

NeonsStyle

All games, GTA, Alien Isolation... pretty much all games.

Did you install the Windows 10 fall update today or yesterday?

I have never had any problems up until today, but now after I installed this update Dxtory just gets stuck on Initializing, even if I have the media pack installed and are using the right audio devices (2 things that made this problem exist before when trying to record a game that uses exclusive audio like Rocksmith).

I recorded yesterday without any problems, installed the update and went to bed. Tried to record now and nothing.

My error log.

Hi,

I'm using Windows 7 Pro on Intel i7 Quad core 3.4 Ghz with 32 Gb  Ram and Nvidia GTX 760 vid card with 2Gb vram.

It worked perfectly, then just stopped working. I reinstalled it and no help. I completely removed it and reinstalled
and it failed to work. Are others having this issue? Is it just me? Does anyone know a solution???

Thanks

Neon

DXTory still fails to work. I'm beginning to think I want a refund

I know where my issue is at least, I can get around the problem if I disable the audio recording. But no matter what audio source I use or what codec it just gets stuck on INIT when I try and record.

For now I'm gonna record video with Dxtory and audio with Audacity.

I have found that one reason for my problem is because I have the N version of Windows, so you need to install the media pack. And I had it before the fall update and I tried installing it again after the update to see if it helped. It didn't.

I wish I could do even that. I can't do anything. The only time it does work, it crashes and fails to record anything. It used to work fine
I just don't understand how it can stuff up so bad, so that even reinstalling it fails to fix the problem.

On top of that, this is the Help Support, and I fail to see any help from the developer on this. It's infuriating. If it isn't fixed
I'm going to do a video on it and the problems I'm having with it.

Very frustrating.

Thanks for the complete lack of support for this software. Seriously pissed off n feels robbed

NeonsStyle

Really annoying. I noticed moderators helping others but not one of you offers me any help. This program is a piece of shit, it cost me over $100 because I needed to record audio on separate tracks so it means I needed DxTory and Virtual Audio cable. VAC works great but DXTory just refuses to record.

I've uninstalled it, completely removed every refference of it on the computer and registry, reinstalled and still it fails to work. When is someone from the
company going to give me some help!

NeonsStyle

With no help from here. I fixed my own problem. Thanks heaps.

Ok guys. YOUR HERO HAS ARRIVED.

First of all, if you have windows 10 N, type on your windows search bar winver, and hit enter. In the windows that pops up you will be able to see the current windows build. Mine is 1511.

Now if that is the version you have, donwload this file (Official from Microsoft) https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=49919
If your windows version is an older one, try this one https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48231
Install it and restart your pc.

VOILÀ. Hope I could help some of you.

Xyber

I figured out that was the problem and tried to install the media pack, but I guess that was the old one I downloaded then. I fixed my problem by upgrading one of my non-N versions to 10 and not deal with this media pack stuff anymore. :)
