[Request] Seperate program just for FPS counter?

Hi.  I recently came across this program when looking for a replacement for Fraps (I can't find any other fps counter that works in DX12 games).  I only use it as a frames per second counter in games and have no interest in the video recording aspect of either program.

I was wondering if it would be possible to create a program that just had the fps overlay at a reduced price?  I'm hesitant to spend so much for features I will never use.  I'm sure there will be plenty of gamers out there who would pay just for the FPS overlay for a fraction of the price.  I much prefer this overlay to the fraps one.

or... you could just use the demo/trial version of dxtory for the fps overlay, no need to bind the record buttons or such if thats all you need.

alternatively; if you're a steam user, you can enable fps counter from steam overlay. granted its a bit minimalistic number written in Arial or such

That's what I have been doing, but the trial/Demo only lasts 30 days.

The Steam overlay also doesn't work in DX12.  Plus it doesn't update quick enough to be much use.

oh? dxtory trial has changed? o_O

I thought the only limitation was the gigantic dxtory-"watermark" over recorded videos.

If what you want is just an FPS counter, just use the trial of Fraps.

Like I said fraps doesn't work in direct X 12, and I don't think anyone has brought out a new version in about 5 years.

Oh sry, completely missed the fraps part, my bad. I think that MSI supports DX12, but nor sure, give it a try if you haven't already.

Deders

If you mean MSI Afterburner (RSS), I don't get any fps or frametime readings in DX12, but they do appear in DX11.

Mhhhh, don't really know of other "known" software to display FPS and such, but I'm pretty sure that the Dxtory trial just has the watermark when recording.

"Trial Mode Restrictions
The logo goes into the file generated by capture.
The logo is displayed in the DirectShow output.
A license purchase site is displayed, when a program is terminated."

This is pasted from the Dxtory Specifications tab. http://exkode.com/dxtory-specs-en.html

Hmm, maybe I am mistaken.  I was under the impression when I installed it would expire after 30 days but I can't see any reference to it now.

I guess I'll let you know in 2-3 weeks.
