Dxtory wont work with windows 8

i downloaded the newest and stable version of dxtory and everytime i lauch it and try the demo it closes the lil luancher then nothing happens when i open the task manager is says update checker and nothing happens, please help i realy like dxtory wen I  had windows 7 and im kinda dissapointed it isnt working on windows 8.

I have a similar problem I also have windows 8 but when I create a video and try to watch it it takes me to xbox video and tells me file format not supported please help
