1. Not amazing graphics card for most of modern games. EDIT: Actually now that I google this Laptop it seems it's x2 SLI.
2. You are recording to the same Hard Drive where system is installed, which is not great. Also your Hard Drive is rather slow being 60-70 MB/s, note the fact that it is even slower when you start the game.

What games exactly are you recording? How much FPS are you getting while NOT recording, and to how much does it drop to when you start recording?

Lagarith Codec: In codec configuration you didn't forget to turn on Multi-Threading and switch mode to YV12? Because those are the best settings for this codec.

beastlierlamb

ok thank you, umm im mostly recording trove and minecraft, and im getting like 20 frames whereas on action i can get 40

You must have at least stable 60 fps while NOT recording if you want optimal recording performance. You should consider trying to ease out the stress to match that framerate by things such as reducing game graphics, reducing resolution or using Dxtory scaling feature, getting faster hard drive, etc.

beastlierlamb

on average i do get around 70 on most games

LOL that's what I get normally. You can live with it, pal.
Also, you could try a different codec. Another great option is to do a DirectShow output to OBS and record with OBS. I don't have much experience in the field but it could work...
