[Solved] Trouble starting Dxtory on Windows startup
« on: January 24, 2015, 09:27:31 pm »
Hi guys, love dxtory btw however, I have upgraded to Windows 8.1 and all my attempts thus far is not working.
I am attempting to start Dxtory on Windows startup.

I have tried placing a shortcut to dxtory in
Code: [Select]
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Start-upI have tried to create a new task to run on startup.

Both fail, If I open up "Show Hidden Icons" in the Task Bar there is no Dxtory icon.
If I open up Task Manager, I see the dxtory.exe running. I guess it is in dormant asking for admin privileges :-\

Is there any other way that I have missed or over looked?
BTW my UAC settings are on "Notify me only when applications try to make changes to my computer (default)"
However, I did have it set to "Never notify me when:" until I realized that it didn't help, had same problem with Dxtory.exe running in background with no Icon in the Task Bar.

Perhaps this should be included with in the options as a check / uncheck option ;)

I have solved my problem :D

I followed this guide http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/67503-task-create-run-program-startup-log.html
To run the Task Schedule in Windows 8 & 8.1 you press Windows Key + S and type in Schedule Tasks

Now you can follow the guide from above link. This loads up Dxtory automatically on log-in ;)
