hi, thank you aznricepuff that codec works amazingly, just one more question, are there any settings and configurations etc in the  codec and little pen icon settings that you would recommend for optimal results that you know of from experience?

I'm using the one highlighted at the moment with no changes but I don't know if it's the best out of the lot.

Once again thank you.

The different utvideo codecs let you select between colorspaces and different levels of chroma subsampling. The RGB codec will give you true lossless capture (vs. the chroma-subsampled YUV codecs, which will force a colorspace conversion and then throw away some chroma information) but will take up the most space as well.

The codec-specific settings (the pen icon) should be fine at their defaults. You can freely switch between "optimize for file size" and "optimize for decode speed" based on your preference. It doesn't affect quality (it's a lossless codec, after all) or encode performance.

Cheers for the information, I'm quite liking this codec, and I'm happy with the RGB codec.
Once again thank you, been a great help.

So has everybody who has responded as well :D

If utVideo Codec doesn't do it for you Try Lagarith Codec @ YV12
