So if it says GPU the GPU is the problem so far so good. But if it says encoding, is the CPU the problem? So would a CPU Upgrade help with that?
Thanks

Takedown

That might be the case, but we need to see your logs to find out.

Okay it actually now does not show me any error while recording but the video is laggy. Game (battlefield 4) runs with 70-90Fps and overlay shows 60 for the recording but it's definitely not working as intended.
Here is the Environment:

Matrox codec requires a ton of CPU power. In fact, any lossy codec (e.g. x264vfw) requires a ton because they are hard at work trying to compress the whole chunk of your video while running your game at the same time.

My CPU is more powerful than yours but even I have issues trying to get it to record 60fps 1080p lossy sometimes. It's the same on other recording software besides Dxtory. However, running lossless codec Lagarith/UTvideo/MagicYUV doesn't present much CPU issue to me. Of course, it comes with the cost of using up more hard disk space. I recorded Battlefield 4 and Dark Souls 3 on 1080p 60fps (MagicYUV) and the bitrate never ever went above 100mb/s, so I'm guessing your write speed will work fine, as long as you don't play on that particular hard disk that you save your recordings on.

Btw, Dxtory's warnings are a little weird. A slight drop (like 1 fps) warrants a CPU/GPU warning for some reason. It's common for the Dxtory warning to show when you are loading a game level or saving.

SgtIcetea

Thanks, do you mind sharing your MagicYUV settings? Would really like to try them out and see if it works. And yes I'm planning a CPU upgrade, for now to the i7 2600k for the extre threads and then probably to a newer i7 as soon as I can afford it

I think I'm seeing what you're saying here. I have two SLI 970's, and I'm constantly getting the GPU bottleneck warning. Unless Dxtory hates these cards, SLI, sharing with the game being run, or Nvidia, then the GPU should never be an issue (this happened with Magic YUV and UTVideo).

Not near my PC now so I can't grab a screenshot. But I'll put down the settings off the top of my head anyway for your reference.
