Hello,

I've been trying to test around with different codecs for dxtory and have had a little confusion with the performance of a few of them. I've been looking for something to record lossless video at 1080p/60fps. I've had no problems with Fraps in the past but I switched to dxtory for the better customization options and additional audio tracks.

When I've been using the Lagarith Lossless Codec, regarding of what FPS I have it set to, all my games would only record at 30FPS. When using Utvideo 420, 422, & 444 I would have zero problems with framerates. For example: recording CS:GO I would have 200 video FPS with 30 recording FPS with Lagarith. I've looked up settings for Lagarith but all of them performed the same and was hoping I could get a little insight. I'm running with med-high end specs with 3 different drives.

PC Specs:
OS: Windows 10
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 4.0Ghz
RAM: 16GB DDR3-1600
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 1070 (Superclocked)
Dxtory installed SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD
Game installed HDD: 1st WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Recording Folder (output): 2nd WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I would also love some recommendations for different codecs to use for high quality recording. I am still in process of learning.

lagarith uses quite a bit more cpu cycles than competing codecs for the same task -> lesser performance, but smaller file in most cases.

I tend to favor Magic YUV (yuv4:2:0 colors) over UTVideo and Lagarith, performs better and in comparison filesize isn't all that much bigger that I'd care.
