Dxtory won't install. Access is denied? Windows 8
« on: December 29, 2013, 11:12:25 am »
So, I finally got my brand new Asus Laptop with some great specs. I wanted to once again re-use this program instead of fraps due to it's amazing compatibility with games. Though, I downloaded the stable and latest version. They both say "access is denied" when I try to install it.

I tested it with administrator rights, allowed it through my anti-virus, and restarted my computer to still see the same faulty message. This computer is new, and has had no trouble so far.  I can list my specs if needed, though, I don't see specs being the issue here.

No error code, no files, no installation, only "access is denied."

OS: Windows 8
Brand: Asus

Please check the digital signature of a setup file.
The file has only broken.
The digital signature is given from ver2.0.125.

File is from the original website. Signature is declared ok.
I tested the file on my old laptop with worse specs and it worked.

Here are a couple of screenshots.

I think that security software or something is the cause.

I just turned off all Anti-virus programs/Firewall. Could there be any other reason? I am very confused about this myself. Is there a way to get the files directly?
