Hi.
I have a Radeon HD 7770 and I just installed the 14.4 driver update for the card. Here is the link: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%207%20-%2064"]http://support.amd.c...=Windows 7 - 64 : and now I lag only if I start recording with Dxtory! I get 150FPS and if I record I lag so much, I get only 9FPS. It worked before I downloaded the new driver.
Hope someone can help.
Thanks

You said it yourself, it worked perfectly fine before the driver update. You should consider installing back the previous AMD drivers.

Your issue might be related to the fact that they have removed AHCI support from that specific Catalyst update due to some issues. If your Hard Drives are working in AHCI mode, rather than in IDE or RAID configuration then it could be related to your issue.

Quote from: AMDAMD has received feedback that some users are unable to install the Catalyst 14.4 driver on some motherboards with AMD chipsets. We have investigated the issue and have determined that it was caused by the AHCI driver component that was included with the driver package.

We have therefore removed the AHCI driver component from the driver package and will be providing it as a separate download.

Is there a way to change your hard driver mode or could you give me a link to the download of AHCI mode?

RobiePAX

DON'T change your Hard Drives mode! You can change the mode only through BIOS, but doing so will break Windows! Only Windows re-installation can successful change the configuration mode and IDE is slower than AHCI.

Sorry, I'm Nvidia user so I'm not much experience with AMD stuff. AHCI is just my assumption of the issue, not a fact. But either way if you want to install previous AMD graphics card drivers which still included AHCI driver then go to AMD Downloads page, select your GPU model and Windows version, click Display Results, then on the right select Previous Drivers and Software and download whatever latest version was before current one. Installer might not let you to install it until you remove the newer version from your PC.

Somehow it got fixed!  :o I just tried again recording and it worked! I didn't uninstall anything yet. Thanks guys for all the help!

Well, you are lucky it got fixed on its own. And no, don't touch AHCI. Again, this mode cannot be changed while operating system is installed on a Hard Drive.

I have a similar problem, I was wondering if you can remember what you did / what settings you changed to fix the problem?

EDIT: I seen the sticky post ExKoder made, I am just wondering if anybody knows how to fix the problem without going back to old drivers..

BlackFing

The only thing I can think of is going back to old drivers or getting a nividia graphics card but if neither of those work then you need to get a different recording software I guess.
