Dxtory won't stop recording!

So half the time my dxtory works fine after having tweaked it for a while. My problem though is that sometimes while I'm recording I will just stay recording forever, and dxtory won't close (I end up having to use task manager) with the recording file being corrupted. Not sure if this helps but when I try to delete the corrupted file it says I can't as it is still in use by the program. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks!

Please submit a ErrorLog.txt.

It is laptop?
A function key or something was pressed. Wasn't it handled as another key?

Yes, it's a laptop.
I have f9 set as my recording button, but I don't know what you mean with whether it was handled as another key.

Laptops have Fn key and Fn Locks which alters F1-F12 keys behaviour. Re-bind recording key to something like * - / or anything else as long as it's not F key. This may solve your issue.

ben.g

Thanks, I'm doing this right now and will update on the details!

ben.g

Actually, sorry for the double post but while I'm at it I have another small problem - some of my recordings aren't compatible with windows movie maker. I know it's not the greatest editing program but it's all I have. Basically it often just comes up with an error like this:

http://i.imgur.com/WUGiVkp.png

And a few times it get's transferred as a sound only file despite working fine as an audio file. Is there a fix? Sorry but I'm not as great with computers as most dxtory users so I'm having a few problems. Thanks!

ben.g

And no, the button switch hasmn't stopped the glitch from happening :(

stevo030997

im having the same problem, also on a laptop. my hotkey is = and the recording starts up just fine but when i want to stop the recording, i try pressing the hotkey and nothing happens. i end up having too end the task (dxtory) and the video file becomes unwatchable in any video player. the video file also says it has 0 bits even though its over 30 mins of recorded video. this is really anoying

CRISPYrice

Bump, same problem! Not on Laptop, hotkey not used by anything else

This is a really old post, it might be completely unrelated. Open a new post and post your environment information on there as well.
