Hi Exkoder! Congrats on the move to the new site. I'm here with an interesting question. :)

I'm looking at building a new rig in a couple of months and I'm starting to prepare my parts list. My primary goal is to build a setup with Dxtory in mind. Lets face it, even though the performance hit is minuscule, it is still there. (I usually lose 5-10 FPS in games, usually not a big deal at all, but in some games like Planetside 2 that framerate hurts!)

So, what would be the recommended CPU, memory and video card setup for the ULTIMATE Dxtory recording rig? Or is there some way to have Dxtory record from a second computer? I'd even be up for that...

the most important: you need a fast HDD.

Next is CPU Power (for encoding the video and processing the game itself) and GPU Power for rendering the game.

I recommend a seperate capture HDD and I recommend the Seagate Barracuda 7200.14. Even better if you buy 2 of them and configure them as a RAID 0. (I have this, and they get 350 mbyte/s writespeed ;)

Also very very important is your dxtory settings. That depends performance very much too on.
