Title: Dxtory crashes Arma 2
Post by: trav164 on August 02, 2013, 07:55:34 am
When trying to record with dxtory, the program crashes first time on startup. When I press my hotkey to record in-game my game immediately shuts down with a crash error.
I've also tried it on other games such as Rising storm, still the same errors...

Is a video driver the cause?

Nope, I've just updated my graphics card drivers and still getting the same problem. Dxtory now doesn't even pick up games such as "Half life 2 Deathmatch" So even if I was able to record, it wouldn't let me because it doesn't work with them games.

can you try other codec than the dxtory one? I remember seeing some weird cases where the crashing was fixed by switching to different codec, like lagarith (http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html) or ut video codec (http://umezawa.dyndns.info/archive/utvideo/?C=M;O=D).

also, some codec packs can cause weird issues, it might be worth a shot to uninstall ffdshow to test it out too.
