AVIMux help?

I'm having the same issue with having 2 audio channels that I see causing some confusion here. I ran across something about the AVIMux tool, and it sounds like its purpose is to combine the 2 audio tracks into 1. Is that correct?
But I can't get it to work, it just seems to lock up. I browse to the file, 1 video and 2 audio channels show. I run it to combine after choosing the destination. That's as far as it goes. It will sit without progress for hours. I assume I'm missing a step or two here.

Am I correct that running this will enable me to use Win Live MM instead of resorting to Vegas by combining the audio?

What am I doing wrong?
