Recording frame rate loss!

Even since the newest version of dxtory I've had frame rate loss on the recording end of the video. Frame rate in game stays above 120 but the file drops to 7 no matter what I do! Tried everything I could do to fix it including switching to other faster hard drives and ssd's nothing has fixed the issue. Again this only started to happen once I updated from version 2.0.125.

Since you are using the Synchronize Video FPS, if you use a slow storage, it is natural to the video FPS drops

Khaorus

Synchronize Video FPS was the only thing that got it above 2 frames a second. The issue being that his newest version of dxtory has started this. Why I couldn't tell you. The older version I was on which I looked up was 2.0.125 never gave me these problems. Only on the recording side does it get affected. Also for the first 10 seconds it stays at 60 fps on the recording side then it drops to 7 with sync enabled without sync it drops to 2.

Khaorus

Also I've tried switching to other codecs with no luck on the recording side of being better. Every time it drops to 7 no matter the setting I use. I've tried enabling multiple processor cores, using 2 graphics cards, and nothing seems to fix the issue.

I can't see how even previous dxtory versions would have helped, your storages are a bit slow (For reference, 1280x720 @ 60fps with DxTory RGB is about 150-160 MB/s.). Are your drives healthy?

TheBadLuckPrince

Try doing a clean install of Dxtory, just reinstall it, select Cleanup before install, & see if it works out for ya.

orboe

I agree with your drives are slow. Lossless or near lossless at that quality and speed require alot of write speed. And if you are running other programs off the same drive, you are not getting the full speed for your recording anyways.

Khaorus

I've  tried clean installing differnt versions that are available and uping the recording speed. No matter what i try it drops to 7 frames. The first 10 seconds of recording is fine then it degrades to 7 after a few seconds. On the older version i had the write speed at the same ammount with problem hell i have videos up from that time. That's why I'm  assuming it's  the newest version  is messing it up because they might have changed the  sxtory codec I  don't  know.  I love all feedback I'm  getting and help though.

TheBadLuckPrince

if you use a program like CrystalDiskMark, what read/write speeds do you get? cause my frames were going low, but were fixed when i clean installed & i record to a drive that has no page files on it.

I'll try this out and see because these hard drives are a year old so the write speeds should be high.  Also sorry for the typos and terrible grammar in the last post using a phone to do this since I'm  not at home today, but will be back tonight . I shall see if there's  another program possibly messing up the recording. What i don't  get it why shadowplay works just fine. Then again it's nvidia so it's  not super great, but it works.

Khaorus

So I checked my write speeds and they're all above 150megabytes. I also clean installed dxtory on multiple version with still no luck. I've even tried to do low quality recording now it won't even go above 20fps on the recording side. I'm not sure why this is. Even on an ssd that I borrowed from a friend over the week it wasn't going above 20. I seriously don't see why this issue is occurring. I even used dxtory on his computer which is running on all ssds even on this computer it wasn't going above 40. Why this is occurring I don't know, but it's getting frustrating that an admin isn't here helping give more info.

Khaorus

Guess I'll just stick to using shadowplay since it's having no issues. Thanks for all the help everyone!

Khaorus

out of curiosity though why is it raw cap has no issues with frame rate.
