Virtual Audio Cable Preventing Recording?

Hello,
So I have been using dxtory for a long time and haven't encountered any issues with recording my games in the past. However, recently I have decided to purchase and use 'virtual audio cable' software so I can have teamspeak comms on a separate audio track in my editing software as I am trying to produce videos. I followed all instructions in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=am1MR8iGb_E
Now when I go to record having my audio through virtual cable line 1, the fps status goes orange as if recording but says 'INIT' and when I stop recording, my footage isn't saved? I have gone back to having my audio through speakers and this now records all my footage perfectly but all teamspeak comms will be mixed with game audio.
So it's clearly virtual audio cable being the problem but was wondering if anyone knew what my problem is so I can record footage with virtual audio cable as a lot of other youtubers currently do and it would help with my videos significantly.
Thanks for any help

My guess is you're recording the wrong side of the cable.
