When I import DxTory footage recorded with the Lagarith lossless codec into Vegas, Vegas is unable to detect the correct colour depth of the clip. Whether it is Lagarith RGBA, RGB, YUY2 or YV12 footage, it will always be detected as RGBA in Vegas. If the Lagarith footage comes from another recording software, like CamStudio, Vegas is able to detect the correct colour depth. Any ideas?

Do you know that it's definitely a problem with Sony Vegas? For example, have you tried viewing the file with VLC AND Media Player?

I don't think it's a problem with Sony Vegas, I believe it's a problem with DxTory. Vegas is normally able to detect the correct colour depth of Lagarith Lossless clips, but not when the writing application is DxToryCore. The clips play fine in VLC and Media Player, and VLC codec information shows the same as my attached MediaInfo.

Thank you for pointing out. I tried using the latest version 2.0.136 instead, but nothing changed. The same problem occurs.

Lagarith lossless codec clips from DxTory are still detected with wrong colour depth in Sony Vegas, even when I use the latest version of DxTory.

There is a bug with Lagarith in dxtory, just change codec. I propose UTVideo. It is free too, lossless to, but use less resources...

Yes, it does seem like a bug, but I would like to know if it is DxTory or the Lagarith Lossless Codec itself that is causing it.

Could be either or, but worth noting is that Lagarith hasn't been updated since 2011, and even its changelog mentions existing bugs.

I'd recommend checking out UTVideo Codec and MagicYUV, both lossless and perform better than lagarith. They do produce slightly bigger files though, but to me it's worth it due to better performance in capture & editing.
